Hello everyone, I own an old Lenovo Z50-70 laptop, but it got dropped on the floor recently. Now it keeps slowing down even when starting Windows. Opening a web browser is slow too. After installing ThrottleStop, the CPU speed stays capped at 800MHz regardless of settings. The panel shows thermal warnings for both GPU and CPU. The biggest issue seems to be the CPU temperature consistently reaching around 50°C. I lifted it up to improve airflow and it dropped slightly to about 47-49°C. I checked various temperature monitors—Open Hardware Monitor, CPUz, GPUz, HWMonitor, HWiNFO, etc.—none reported high temps. The plastic cover stays cool, and when I disassembled it, the heatsinks were firmly attached to the CPU, GPU, and mainboard, suggesting proper cooling. At this point, there’s no clear sign of overheating. The fan is always spinning, even after replacing it, which made me wonder if it’s faulty or if some sensor is sending wrong data. Could ThrottleStop be misbehaving? Is the 800MHz throttling for another reason? I’m running out of ideas, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Specs: Intel Core i7-4510U (2 x 2 - 3.1 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce 840M (4096 MB), 1124 MHz RAM (DDR3, 1600 MHz, dual-channel, 2 slots). OS: Windows 7 64-bit.

Consider turning off BD PROCHOT in ThrottleStop. Some laptops require the CPU to slow down if an aftermarket power supply isn't used or if the detection fails. Source: https://superuser.com/questions/1160735/...er-adapter
