I own an Acer Aspire 5 a515-51G which frequently shuts off near 50°C on the CPU. Previously, I used it for gaming and anything else without problems; it would run at 70-80°C smoothly. Recently this began to happen. I replaced the paste, swapped the heat pipe, adjusted the fan, updated the BIOS, reinstalled all drivers but the issue persists. It doesn’t matter if the OS is running or just in BIOS—it always drops at base clock speeds like 1.6GHz or with Intel Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz, shutting down instantly before the system even loads. No blue screen appears; it simply powers off quickly, sometimes eight times, then restarts after a few seconds. A friend’s thermal camera confirmed the temperatures are accurate. I suspect the temperature sensors might be faulty. If that’s the case, would fixing them or replacing the board be necessary? What GPU temperature is being recorded? Which tool is being used for monitoring? Have you experimented with another power supply? Is the device overheating?

GPU temperatures typically sit between 40-45 degrees. Each program provides identical measurements, which matches what I observed when using a thermal camera. The problem occurs even when connected to a different power adapter, so I’ve already tested that.
