Is there a real issue here or not? I'm working on a build for sum1 and don't want to cause any problems for him.

It indicates that the motherboard's BIOS might need an upgrade prior to the CPU functioning properly, meaning a distinct CPU would be necessary to perform the update.

The issue likely involves compatibility between the motherboard and the CPU. The BIOS needs a specific version or higher to support the processor, otherwise an update is necessary. This often means using a 6th generation chipset, which may not be present. You might need to get the latest BIOS from the seller or opt for another motherboard from the 2nd series lineup, such as the links provided.

It works with processors up to the Core i7 7700K. A BIOS upgrade to version 1.4 or later is required. Ensure your system has a compatible Skylake CPU to apply the update.

They're suggesting I need an additional CPU to make the BIOS updates go smoothly. The person receiving it seems to prefer minimal effort.

Avoid interfering with the Bios unless necessary. Request a different Board.

A different board can resolve the issue. Refer to my previous post for details.

It's worth noting, though, that the next most affordable option in your list is just a few pounds more... That's probably acceptable.
