Began playing WoW again in 2012 using a free account. Currently experiencing huge FPS drops. Game runs smoothly at 60fps with 1080P, GPU usage near 85%. After some time it freezes briefly, objects flicker like a graphics driver reload, then everything resumes but drops to about 6fps and full GPU load. Lowering settings or shutting down completely restores it to around 11fps, though it's still difficult to play. Restarting the game doesn't help. Any suggestions? I'll log the issue for you.

Hey there, sorry about that. The GPU temperature stays around 80°C most of the time, which is typical for my setup. My specs are: i7-6700 GTX, 960, 4GB RAM, 16GB, 2400MHz, Samsung MZVPV256HDGL 256GB NVMe M.2 plus a 2TB HDD—actually an Alienware Alpha R2. Don’t worry, I’m not going to get burned, I really like it :-) I tried the WOW settings and reset the graphics to default/recommended, and FPS jumped to over 100 before any slowdown issues, so I’ll check that out.

Transform those seven days into a clear understanding of the app’s flaws. I hope this happens quickly.

Absolutely not any throttling detected. As I mentioned, 80c is completely fine for this setup. It's a full desktop GPU, and NVIDIA claims it won't throttle until 98c! I'm going to check the drivers. Curiously, I attempted to record the game using GeForce Experience, but it didn't work! That suggests there might be an issue somewhere...

WoW is now a Facebook app. It looks more polished compared to Farmville.

Certainly, the fortification was awful, yet the newest update differs significantly. Only a handful of features involve assigning companions to tasks, making up a minuscule segment of the overall experience. I question if Majestic has even released the most recent update.

I actually tried. I've always disliked daily content. This round you're supposed to complete them for your weapon relics, etc. After ICC or maybe Ulduar, interest faded. I didn't even play the Garisson expansion while it was live. So I returned to the game with a struggling economy.

I believe there are valid concerns about Blizzard's approach to the artifact system, yet comparing it to a mobile game isn't a proper critique. It's surprising you haven't considered how much players value depth in that expansion.
