There seems to be an issue somewhere. Something is definitely off.

I just looked at the prices of older AM4 chips and was surprised... The Ryzen 7 5800X is listed at 249€ in the Netherlands and Portugal, while it's 209€ (currently unavailable) in Europe. I understand it's an older model, but that low price? - Already? What's going on with it? 209€ matches the current cost of a 5600X... Do we expect this during Black Friday? - What are the EDIT prices (NL): 5600:145€, 5600X:185€, 5700X:249€, 5800X:249€, 5900X:369€, 5950X:599€, 5800X3D:369€?
They are reducing inventory. Also, sales have slowed down. I think 209 might be an error, and 250 looks more sensible.
AM5 has just been announced, making it the latest option available. Building an AM5 setup is currently more expensive because of higher motherboard costs and the use of DDR5 only. Raptor Lake offers strong competition to AM5, while the i5-13600K provides a solid mid-range choice that competes with the 7600X. AMD aims to stay competitive in the budget segment versus Intel.
The pricing for these models varies. The 5900X, 5950X, and 5800X3D have different price points, with the 5800X3D standing out as a less competitive option on the platform. The 5800X3D tends to perform better at workstations compared to the newer Intel chips, while the overall system is being phased out, leading to lower prices as retailers sell off inventory.
Usually, such things are only noticed by those who haven’t experienced the late 90s, and it’s essentially the same concept but from a different era.
Prices seem reasonable. It’s hard to match the 5600-5700 line because they can’t compete with the newer products. The 5800x-5950 range varies from modest to substantial, which explains their pricing. You should aim to clear older stock since keeping it costs money—shelving space, utilities, staffing, etc. There’s a complex system for allocating inventory costs, and it’s a significant point for us in accounting.
I’m considering purchasing the 5600 at 145€ for my latest build. Pairing it with a 6800 XT sounds like a solid plan!
It's a solid choice since it provides sufficient power for 1440p gaming.
