There might be an issue with your internet speed.
After installing a new Windows after purchasing a PC, I noticed it was limiting my 1Gbps fiber connection. My system runs an Intel i7 8700K with a MOBO Asus ROG Strix Z-390i gaming Wi-Fi. I updated drivers, checked the BIOS, but found nothing. No apps seemed to be throttling it either. I reached out to ATT but got no response. Tried adjusting router settings and NAT to full open, maxing out at 999MBps, still no improvement. Then I performed another clean install, and it worked—though I later built a Ryzen setup for my girlfriend with an ASUS ROG Strix B550F chipset.
Tell me about your performance. What tools do you use to check these speeds? Are you connected via WiFi or Ethernet? How many devices are currently accessing your network?
I was checking speedtest.net and moving between Wi-Fi and Ethernet CAT6 connections. Only one device was connected to the network, and I tested using my phone as well. On my phone it reached nearly 999MBps, while the PC averaged 20 to 30 Mbps. I tried different testing services with AT&T, but it still used speedtest.net, so I didn’t actually change anything. For my computer, it seems the issue might have been resolved during the second fresh installation.
Yeah, it was installed both times. As far as anything else not that i know of
GameFirst interferes with your internet to supposedly enhance your gaming experience. In reality, it slows down your connection by limiting specific apps. Remove it if you encounter issues.
