VLC media player indeed offers variable playback speed. It is possible to adjust this either via the keyboard or through the "Playback >> Speed" menu in VLC. Refer to the official support page for more details.

Hi. You're welcome. I can adjust the playback speed via Playback >> Speed. It's not straightforward because you have to repeat it several times. If you need any keyboard shortcuts, let me know as there is no information available and the help menu only shows the version number. Thanks.

Using VLC is easy—just press the plus or minus keys to adjust the playback speed. It's quite straightforward.
Other shortcuts include using the space bar to switch between pause and play.
