I'm preparing my first PC and after powering it on, I encountered a USB discharge issue that prevented it from booting. Tech support confirmed it was defective and stated no other components failed. I'm worried about the new motherboard arriving and whether it will work properly.

It varies depending on the situation. You don’t need to be concerned here. Based on what you’ve shared, it doesn’t appear to have caused any issues or damage elsewhere.

It should be okay—just keep an eye out for any signs of a faulty PSU, though the chance is low. Install the new board, configure it, and check functionality. That should resolve the issue.
