I started playing CS:GO recently. This weekend I reached 10 wins and earned Silver 1. Tonight I began again and won another match, pushing my total to 11, which got me Silver 2. I faced some criticism but after researching it seemed normal. I continued and won another game, bringing my record to 12, landing me at Silver 3. What surprised me was that despite my usual second or third place ranking, I only achieved a 12th competitive win overall. I heard some discussions about rankings being affected, is that even possible?

You're playing Silver 2, winning a few close fights around the top tier, and you're still considered Silver 2.

The ranking focuses on win-loss records and MVP status. It makes sense if your team suffered a tough loss like that one.

I earned 12 victories and 3 ties to climb from Nova 2 to 3... I only dropped one match. FML

If you choose not to save after winning the pistol, you could end up winning three in a row.

Additionally, rankings change based on your opponent and future matchups—losing to higher tiers next time lowers your standing. Also, MM is really tough; try playing Faceit instead.
