Hi Everyone,
I’m seeking some assistance with a problem I encountered. A few years ago, I assembled a computer and initially it failed to load upon powering it on—lights and fans were active but the screen remained blank. After a short wait, I rebooted it and everything functioned correctly. Over time, patience wore thin; sometimes I spent hours repeatedly turning it off and on to finally achieve a working display.
Recently, the issue has worsened. I’ve been spending about 20 minutes each cycle just to get a display that works. Despite this, the PC shop I visited couldn’t identify any faults—they confirmed everything was properly connected and the build was sound.
I’ve disassembled and rebuilt the system multiple times over the years, performing thorough cleanouts. The hardware seems intact, but the problem persists. My current specs are:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
Version: 10.0.22631 Build 22631
Other OS Description: Not Available
OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: X570 GAMING X
System Type: x64-based PC
System SKU: Default string
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor, 3600 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
I’ve tried updating the BIOS, swapping RAM, installing a different cooler for the CPU, relocating the M.2 slot, disconnecting all other drives to check for conflicts, and even replacing the GPU from my old machine (which had worked flawlessly for four months). The GPU in my previous PC remained functional.
I’m still unsure what’s causing this issue, but I’m determined to resolve it.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
You have two more BIOS updates ready. Flash to version F39.
How are you keeping your processor cool?
What is the make and model of your case? How many fans are there, and what is their orientation inside the case?
Which PSU do you have, and how old is it?
You should have listed your specifications in this order:
CPU: CPU cooler: Motherboard: RAM: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, provide the current BIOS version for your motherboard.
