Hi everyone again. I've been visiting more often lately. My system is still pretty new.

I'm running Windows 10, an Asus B460 Pro with an Intel i7-10700, 32GB Corsair memory, an Asus RTX 2070 Super, a Gold 750 watt PC unit, and two M.2 SSDs. The keyboard and mouse are wired Logitech, while the gamepad is wireless Logitech F710. All drivers are up to date (hopefully).

I've been playing games smoothly, from high to low-end titles, and everything ran perfectly. The only hiccup was during a Win 10 update that led to issues with wireless printing. After re-downloading Slime Rancher—a game I used to play on my old system, which had its own problems—I noticed my controls became erratic. Random jumps and fast movements happened, but the game kept running otherwise.

I tried typing the message I saw in the error log while the game was running:
"HW i wwsowwww wwit whappened again while pwlaywInwnwwwgwwwwwwwwwwww
www.
WTHIS MI ME TRyING TO TYPE befowrwwwEW wiLLwwwwwwww wREStart wsysteWMWWW"

Restarting the PC fixed the problem, and it didn’t come back until I played the game again. The strange inputs persisted even after quitting. This was a sentence I typed to the developer support chat.

The issue seems linked to the game itself—random keystrokes like 'w', 'space', 'shift', 'scroll' without any other characters. I also saw similar diagnostics in DXdiag under Windows Error Reporting, with a fault related to Steam Web Helper and an app hang.

I reached out to Monami (the devs) but haven’t received much response. There’s also a wireless gamepad connected during play, but it isn’t being used for this session. My searches on the web didn’t yield any answers.

Anyone have any advice or help? Thanks a lot.

The initial cause for re-downloading Slime Rancher was related to a specific issue or problem.
Where did you obtain the game? Information about the source or download location.
Have you executed any antivirus or malware protection software?
Check the Reliability History for any recorded errors linked to quitting the game.
Uninstall the application, perform AV/Malware scans, restore the system to its normal state, back up data, and consider re-downloading if necessary.

The Game is available on Steam. My system is brand new, and I haven’t played this game since my previous one. It has received some updates, and my kids also liked it, so I re-downloaded it. (mainly for the younger players because it’s a colorful game that attracts them)

I’ve performed several scans and found nothing. The developers have been unable to offer a fix. This is the most unusual problem I’ve encountered with a PC to date.

Revisiting and rechecking everything again.
This message suggests that the game or related software might be causing system corruption. I think the Dxdiag tool clearly confirms this situation.
Here are some immediate steps you can try:
1) Use the built-in Windows 10 troubleshooters to investigate and potentially resolve the issue.
2) Execute "sfc /scannow" and "dism" to detect and fix possible problems, but be aware that fixing the issue might lead to further corruption if the game is replayed.
For more guidance:
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-...es-2626161
https://www.howtogeek.com/222532/ho...-s...-commands/
3) Compare the system state before and after the game runs to spot changes.
Start the PC without launching the game, then check Task Manager, Resource Monitor, Task Scheduler, and Process Explorer (available from Microsoft). This can help identify what processes are active.
You might see a small arrow in some column headers—click it to sort the data and make it easier to read.
Once you open the game, observe if any other components start or stop unexpectedly.
Also, check the Reliability History or Event Viewer for any new errors linked to unusual keyboard activity.
Don’t jump into actions like restarting or editing the registry right away. The aim is simply to spot a clear difference between normal operation and when things break.
I’ll examine the "Event Names" section to gather more information.

Thank you for your response once more. I'll be free for the next half week, then I'll review what you recommended and provide an update. I'm keen to tackle this unusual issue.

Hi all. If you ever see this again just wanted to let everyone know that after posting a video of said issue to another forum, it was made apparent that this was actually a keyboard macro issue. Somehome a whole gaming session of keystokes were saved to my G1 and G2 keys and when the children where playing games like Slime Rancher they would inadvertently press one of the G keys that are close to the tab key and start a whole mess of inputs to start. If your curious here is a photo of said macro,

My apologies to Monami and the Slime Rancher team who spent a lot of time trying to help me with this issue.
Thanks to all.
