If you'rs struggling with temps in games and you're worried the temps will eventually kill your cpu, I think you're better off not using it for games. Computer shops charge a lot for labour, but it might be a good idea to ask a qualified technician to check and diagnose your laptop to see exactly what is wrong and IF there is anything you can do to fix it, by I doubt you will find replacement parts very quickly as they have to special order it.
I only play two games. In the first, I restrict CPU and GPU usage to prevent overheating and ensure smooth operation. The highest temperature reached is around 80°C. The second game isn’t worth it—it limits my performance and, being a strategy title, it doesn’t significantly raise temperatures. Even at full performance, it only hits 90°C every few hours, after which the cooling system kicks in and ruins the experience. It works, but I don’t play much anymore because games either fail to load or overheat, causing my laptop to shut down. Regarding repairs, people suggest I give it to a friend who knows more about computers instead of taking it to a shop. They charge a lot, and finding replacement parts is unlikely.
I just got my very old laptop, cleaned the fan and vents, and replaced the CPU. It’s actually simple for most laptops as long as you ground yourself. You should give it a try. Open it first to check if the manufacturer used paste or pads. If it’s pads, you’ll need to know their thickness or you might run into trouble.
That's my laptop. If anyone knows what it is, I'd recommend turning up the volume on your PC or phone to hear it clearly.
