HI everyone. I very little about networks. Probably just enough to mess things up badly. I just learned about Netstat and found all these connection to my home network. This dose not look good. Below this is my Event Viewer/admen events list. There are 51,000 events in the last 18 months. This seems excessive. I know there are some Windows events that are there on purpose, but I think this is too high. I have an infinity modem/router wired to this PC and one other PC is hard wired to this. There is a Velop mess node also connected. there is a second node downstairs, and these are for all the wireless devices. I have Norton 360, but now I do not think it is doing enough now. Could one of you smart network guys take a look at these logs and give me a idea of what is happening and what I should be doing different? HI everyone. I very little about networks. Probably just enough to mess things up badly. I just learned about Netstat and found all these connection to my home network. This dose not look good. Below this is my Event Viewer/admen events list. There are 51,000 events in the last 18 months. This seems excessive. I know there are some Windows events that are there on purpose, but I think this is too high. I have an infinity modem/router wired to this PC and one other PC is hard wired to this. There is a Velop mess node also connected. there is a second node downstairs, and these are for all the wireless devices. I have Norton 360, but now I do not think it is doing enough now. Could one of you smart network guys take a look at these logs and give me a idea of what is happening and what I should be doing different? You probably have more than one thing wrong happening right now. The event log is filled with garbage messages. Just looking at the title isn't enough; you need to check the actual details inside. A simple message about an application error might just mean you accidentally left a program running or closed it wrongly.

Wow, it was quick! Thanks a lot. I'm not 100% sure why this happened. That's why I need more advice from people who know things better. Those lots of netstat lines look too much to me just looking at them. Are all those computers connected to my phone or am I connecting to all of them? Or does leaving a page open keep the connection going forever? Can I check if this is real? Yes, thanks! I read most of the event details carefully, mostly errors and warnings. Many look like nothing bad happened. How can I know when something's actually wrong? I hope you help me out here.

If you see something labeled "Foreign Address," don't worry about it. These aren't links coming from the internet or another network. Instead, they show connections that happen on your own computer, like a printer working with your PC or other devices inside the same house-network talking to each other.

You can't connect to your PC from outside. Your router will stop any attempt unless you set up special rules for incoming traffic, like port forwarding. What you see on screen is just junk coming from your browser. A lot of stuff is happening behind the scenes. Some web pages keep loading ads just because they are open. The addresses 127.0.0.1 are only used by your computer talking to itself, and nothing leaves that machine or even reaches your house.

Lots of thanks to everyone. Got my head straight. I haven't changed anything on this new Xfinity router yet. The game setting was on the old, retired one. I tried to keep it safe as best I could. Back when I first got it, a few months ago, I wasn't sure about all that stuff. One day I saw a long list of numbers and got a little scared. Is there some link or video that would explain this kind of thing better? Thanks again!
