Hey ! I also attempted to overclock the GPU of my Asus ROG GL702vs (I7 7700HQ, GTX 1070, 8gb RAM) with MSI Afterburner. After that, white dots began showing up on my screen, only visible when using Brave browser, League of Legends Client, or Microsoft Teams. I didn’t see them in Opera or other browsers. Any solution?

Turn off the hardware acceleration? Disable the overclock? Honestly, it's not worth tweaking those 10, 16, and 20 series GPUs when they're sensitive to temperature, especially when shared on a heatsink with the CPU in a compact laptop design.

Yes, they disappear once you take off the overclock.

Yes, you have reinitialized your system settings to the default values, and this action is triggered by specific applications.

Yeah, it only occurs with those three apps I know about. I haven’t had any issues with the others or my Windows setup. It’s strange since I turned on Hardware Acceleration before you told me to disable it, but I didn’t notice any problems in Opera. Sorry for the delayed reply—thanks for the update! I’m currently doing an online class.

I would turn it off. Disconnect the PSU from the main power switch on the PSU, let it sit for a while, then plug it back in and restart. It might work if you have a backup before the overclock occurred.

To turn off Hardware Acceleration – especially in Firefox, since that’s my setup – navigate to Options > General tab, then scroll down to the Performance section.
