Paladins hasn't been as exciting lately after everything we've experienced. We've played with pros, logged over 1200 hours, worked with multiple teams, and navigated the ups and downs over the past few years since OB37. R6S doesn't bring much joy and I find it hard to engage with. OW feels slow and overly polished. TF2 is gone and CS:GO isn't a hero shooter. Unless something new appears in beta or soon, I'd like to stay updated so I can try it out. I enjoy the mix of MOBA and FPS that Paladins offers, but I'm looking for something fresh that's not just a mediocre game made 99% by skinning and 1% by polish. I've always wanted to play a solid RPG, but the single-player options I have are either too short or broken, and I get bored after about 30 hours. MOBA games like LoL and Dota 2 are my pain points—I hate those top-down experiences. Thanks for any recommendations!

I favor Paladins more than Overwatch, though I haven’t thought of any new hero shooters. Here are some top options: Battleborn, Gigantic Quake Champions, Dirty Bomb Lawbreakers, Block, Load Paragon Loadout.

It was the initial loadout when it launched, but servers are now offline. Paragon felt rough, Battleborn is also closed, though I had some fun with it. The Dirty Bomb session lasted about an hour before I stopped playing. I still checked out the other entries on the list.

Battleborn - Dead Gigantic - Dead QC - Thriving as far as I can tell Dirty Bomb - Dead Lawbreakers - Dead Block N Load - Unknown Paragon - Unknown Loadout - Uncertain.
Personally, I think hero shooters are really bad. Many don’t attract a broad enough crowd.

I like a few of them, Paladins and Battleborn were awesome, Loadout was enjoyable too, though some, like OW, play poorly in my view.

The servers are running smoothly, you can still invite friends and enjoy online gaming. It's not fully shut down, only has a small number of players. If bots are allowed, they add just as much enjoyment as human players.

It seems some individuals are managing to access accounts... The Steam player stats over the past day likely reflect developers or frequent logins, as participation drops when no one is playing. It varies by title. Bots add excitement in titles like Call of Duty or CS:GO, particularly with settings like Ghosts and WWII where you can boost difficulty. You won’t be able to chat with them, but on PC conversations are rare anyway. Ghosts feels outdated, yet battling bots keeps the gameplay fresh and revives old modes. I can play Gun Game versus bots for extended periods. This approach might work for similar hero shooters too. There’s probably a way to increase difficulty—works in Call of Duty.

CS:GO stands out as the sole shooter allowing you to increase the challenge beyond your usual level, and even at the highest settings, most players manage to complete it smoothly.

Purchase COD Ghosts for $1 to $5 on eBay. Deploy bots and explore the site. Top-rated game using automation. Ideal if Extinction didn’t have bots.
