There are some concerns regarding power percentage on a GTX 970 G1 Gaming chipset.
Well I'm still learning about overclocking and I'm reading a lot about it before trying anything, I downloaded the MSI afterburner to see some statistics and see temperatures, etc. then noticed that my Power % was maximum at 60% while gaming, and the GPU temp was only at 51ºc. I tried to search some info in the web and I didn't found anything useful, maybe I just don't know what to search for.
My question is, this power % is normal? I'm getting 60 fps in gtaV at 1080p with the NVIDIA GeForce experience "optimal settings", so it doesn't worried me that much, I'm just curious.
Here is my rig:
Core i5 4690k stock
GTX 970 G1 Gaming soc stock
16gb Kingston Savage
Asus Z97 Deluxe
EVGA 750 G2 Supernova
Thank you in advance and sorry for my "Spanish" :'D
That's how your GPU typically functions. The GPU load and power percentage aren't always directly related. Your GPU is operating without issues.
If you use vertical sync, it restricts your FPS to match your monitor's refresh rate—typically 60Hz. This means the GPU only delivers up to 60 frames per second at 60% load. Yet it can reach 100% load and generate more heat than necessary for such a low demand. Removing vertical sync or increasing resolution would likely show higher GPU usage.

I just tested this and I'm not sure if it works. I had Vsync turned on and my monitor runs at 60Hz (Smart TV). I tried disabling the GPU opening Project Cars downsampling to 3840x2160 with Vsync off, and everything ran at ultra. I got around 4fps. The GPU was at 100% load but power stayed between 66-68%. When I switched to GTAVsync off in ultra, the GPU load jumped to 98%, which is a bit concerning. Any advice?

Thanks a lot
