The screen quality is very low, so I've switched to high contrast, but not all features work on the web. The Dell e5470 bought recently stopped recognizing hard dive. Any suggestions to fix this? Thank you.

Which G3 model are you using? You can browse this site for options;
LAPTOP SCREEN available from $34.99, replacement LCD screens. Repair Tablet, Acer, Apple, iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Dell, HP Compaq, Toshiba, IBM Lenovo, Sony, Asus, Gateway.
Laptop and tablet replacement LCD screens start at $34.99 for all brands: Acer, Apple, Samsung, Dell, HP Compaq, Toshiba, IBM Lenovo, Sony, Gateway, Asus. Same day shipping available.
www.laptopscreen.com
offers a replacement screen. With several G3s in circulation, it might help to note the SKU you own.
By the way, have you verified that your laptop's BIOS is up to date? Did you reinstall the GPU drivers and OS updates? I’m a bit puzzled about how you formatted the thread—are you facing display problems such as artifacts, or are you noticing the screen fading out?
The latter case requires a new display. The former can be resolved with driver, BIOS, or OS updates.

Thank you for the response. The bios from HP were updated, but the device wouldn't power on initially before eventually starting. Windows 10 reports that the drivers are current. The display has low contrast, making everything hard to read. I'd say it looks washed out, though all elements are visible—just not enough contrast for easy reading and video/graphic colors seem overly bright or dark.
Update: it's significantly better after the bios update. Appreciate the help!
