I tried launching GTA Online on my PS3, but connecting was tricky—mostly I faced drug-related missions and a few other tasks that repeated. Since then, I wonder if more mission options appear as you progress or earn money. Do you see any updates to the online section after playing? Are there helpful guides for navigating the online part of the game? I’d appreciate some insight before purchasing on PC.
There are numerous missions available. You earn them by progressing through levels. Simply contact one of the characters for a mission, or it should already appear in your job list. I especially enjoy Lester's missions because you "hack" them, lol. http://gta.wikia.com/Missions_in_GTA_Online
