I’ve created several threads about the challenges I’m facing. Many of these issues aren’t being resolved, and I’m not getting any responses. I’m unsure what to do next besides compiling more threads covering all the problems since my PC arrived on January 1st, 2024. Sorry, I just don’t know what else to do—I have no other forum to turn to. Here’s a clear summary of what’s been happening:
Since getting the PC:
- DX12 games sometimes crash in fullscreen, but other modes work.
- The BIOS freezes when I use the search icon.
- Windows 10 (specifically version) shows bluescreens due to network driver issues (tcpip.sys).
- Recently, a new bluescreen occurred. A dump file was provided: 012324-11906-01.dmp.
- Resetting the BIOS once helped, but it led to boot loopholes and required switching memory slots one by one.
- Once I reset memory slots, the PC started working—though it still reported a boot failure.
- Occasionally the PC would black out completely, though this only happened once.
- Game crashes were limited to DX12 in Dying Light 2. One occurred during regular play, another after changing graphics settings.
- BIOS settings didn’t save automatically; I had to manually edit them.
- Running a driver verifier on all drivers (not just Microsoft) showed issues, but reinstalling Windows and BIOS didn’t fix it.
- Game crashes in DX12 fullscreen persisted even after switching to Windows 11.
- OS driver problems were specific to Windows 10; Windows 11 didn’t show similar issues.
- I’ve tried reinstalling Windows and BIOS multiple times, but the problems remain.
- Running a memory test on Windows 10 Pro showed crashes in DX12 fullscreen mode.
- The game issues like crashes in DX12 were still present on Windows 11, while OS driver faults were Windows 10-only.
Current specs:
- RTX 4090, latest game ready driver, 7950X3D, b650 AORUS Pro AX, latest chipset, 2x16GB RAM at 5600MHz.
- Corsair Dominator memory, XMP profile, 980 Pro SSD (2TB), 970 EVO Plus SSD (240GB).
- 1TB HDD for backups and game storage.
- PSU: 980 Pro, 80+ Platinum.
- I’ve used Instant Reply for recordings, and a 1TB HDD for backups.
I’ve tried reinstalling Windows, changing BIOS, updating drivers, underclocking components, running stress tests, and adjusting settings. Still facing the same challenges.
Please help—I’m trying to resolve this step by step. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m sorry I keep posting, but I’m just working through this.
Games I experienced problems with include COD Warzone 3, Alan Wake 2, a crash in fullscreen mode once on RDR2, and issues with DX12 Dying Light 2 when in fullscreen.
You've shared a lot of details about your troubleshooting efforts, but unfortunately they haven't resolved the issue. This is exactly the kind of post we aim for. At this stage, the only component left to consider is the motherboard—have you tried replacing it? You've already swapped the CPU, RAM, and GPU without success. Would you like to return the motherboard or explore another option?
This might be challenging, but I'm trying. Perhaps using a different power source could help. Appreciate your response!
I took it to a hardware store. I checked another store just in case, but when I had DL2 open in fullscreen it crashed and the event viewer displayed something.
Please upload all the dump files you have, not just the most recent.
these are the versions I currently have, restored to the state available at that time. I moved to Windows 11 without any crashes since then. There’s no mini dump folder in the C:\Windows directory, which suggests I might only be using Windows 10. I did notice DL2 and COD crashing on fullscreen DX12, especially during FrameGen. I can turn it off to fix this or keep it on but switch to borderless—though it’s just a strange issue. I’ve tested every piece of hardware and everything seems fine.
