Hey everyone, I'm working on a new build and need a reliable PSU. I'm planning to future-proof it with an ATX 3.0 setup, which should work well for a potential 40 series GPU in the future. Thanks all and cheers!

Which ATX3.0 power supplies are offered in your region? I can share links to online stores if you'd like.

Good day. Apart from the MSI models listed below, here are some of my top picks. I’m unfamiliar with any ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 power supplies yet, as these are quite recent.

The MSI model rated at 850 watts has only six customer ratings on NewEgg, with several negative reviews. Given the limited number, it’s hard to judge the overall credibility of the feedback. Still, its reasonable price makes me think I should share this listing so you can decide. For my own peace of mind, I’d lean toward the Seasonic if I were adopting the new standard, though they seem quite expensive right now. I expect prices to drop once Amazon has stocked them and all versions are available on both NewEgg and Amazon. If you’re thinking about buying, it might be wise to wait until February when inventory stabilizes.

The Super Flower stands out among PSUs; it lacks the new 16-pin connector but offers solid support options—either through Amazon or NewEgg’s customer service. The EVGA T2 1000 belongs to the same Super Flower lineup, yet it connects via an excellent US support network, while the Super Flower OEM comes with non-sleeved cables and a sharper fan design (based on reviews and performance). I own an EVGA T2 1000 in my main rig, though I bought one from NewEgg just a day ago at a 50% discount. My two other family setups use the EVGA P2 850, which is no longer in stock, but the Super Flower Platinum 850W is what those models are modeled after.

The Corsair RM850x offers good value; I recently bought one for a friend. The HX1000i series is notable because it connects to your motherboard via an internal USB header, allowing real-time analytics like wattage and efficiency.

I’m currently weighing between a new ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 PSU—still emerging with limited reliability history—or a proven standard model without the 16-pin connector but with a solid track record.
The price range for the 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 variant is roughly $160 to $200.

Prices for MSI models:
- MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 850 W – $159.99 (poor reviews, only 6 ratings, gold efficiency)
- MSI MPG A1000G PCIE 5.0 1000W – $199.99 (good reviews, gold efficiency)

Seasonic options:
- VERTEX GX-850 – $219.99 (out of stock, gold efficiency expected Feb)
- VERTEX GX-1000 – $249.99 (available, gold efficiency expected Feb)
- GX-1200 – $289.99 (platinum expected Feb)

Traditional power supplies without 16-pin connectors:
- Corsair RM850x (2021) – $134.99
- Super Flower Platinum 850W – $149.99 (promo available)
- Super Flower Leadex Titanium 1000W – $229.99 (promo available)

Corsair HX1000i – $259.99 with CORSAIR iCUE software for monitoring and fan control.

EVGA SuperNOVA T2 1000 – $279.99 (titanium version expected Feb).

Let me know if you’d like more details on any item.

I reviewed your query again and noticed you were focusing on a specific power supply configuration. The initial choice fits the requirements perfectly. The second option (Super Flower Leadex Platinum 1600W) offers substantial wattage at a low price but doesn’t match the ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 specification. I felt it warrants recognition nonetheless. The HX1500i isn’t an ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 model, though I included it for reference.

Any update? Have you settled on a purchase?
By the way, here is one more 1200W
non
-ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5.0 PSU, but it's still an excellent option, and $45 cheaper than the 1600 watt model that I previously mentioned. Also, it'll be noticeably lighter than the 1600W variant.
---------------------------------------
Super Flower Leadex Platinum SE 1200W 80+ Platinum
$209.99 (+ $15 off w/ promo code MKTCNA727, limited offer By Super Flower)

I haven't bought anything yet, but I'm planning to go with the Seasonic VERTEX GX-1200, 1200W 80+ Gold. They should be back in stock by the end of the month. I'm excited about finishing the build and hope it's up and running in February. Thanks again for your help!
