I have a GALAX GTX 1080 with three fans that switch on and off unpredictably between about 1k to 3k RPM without any extra strain on the card (not running anything) and temperatures staying under 30°C. The fan speed percentage remains fixed at 37% even when RPM changes. Any method to keep it steady at 1k idle, especially since the sudden jumps sound like a jet engine.

Hello there, new member! You might want to consider upgrading the thermal paste and pads to better quality. Since the card wasn't taken apart for a thorough cleaning, now could be a perfect opportunity to do it.

I'll attempt it again. What could be responsible for it consistently displaying 37%? I haven't observed any movement returning to that level before. Would a cleaning resolve the issue?
