Hello Everyone,
I've been using Edge daily without any problems for the last two years. Recently, I faced a problem that's hard to fix. Edge usually uses the default browser themes you can install, but it now forces its own daily theme instead, which is quite bothersome. I keep switching themes and disabling the daily one, yet it still appears. It seems like the settings are being reset as if they were reverted. I don’t know what to do next. I’m unable to uninstall and reinstall Edge now, so I didn’t try a clean install. I modified Edge and tried to fix it, but it still works no matter which theme is installed.

I experienced a comparable problem with Windows Explorer where my settings failed to save across all folders even after applying changes. It persisted until I reinstalled the operating system using Windows Media Creation Tools, as networking issues and driver reinstallation didn’t resolve the matter. A small bug or corruption was likely the cause, which became clear once the OS was reinstalled and I received an update.
My suggestion would be to attempt a system restore to a point before the issue began or to reinstall the OS after backing up essential files.
Yes, I’ve been frustrated with this version of the OS since switching from Windows 7 about two years ago. I wish I could have stayed on my current system if possible.
Sorry for the delayed reply, you mentioned a corrupted file system, so I chose to run an SFC /Scannow. Then I reset edge back to default settings to begin the process fresh. Probably helped, since some files were found to be damaged during the scan—definitely a file system issue. We'll find out if my themes last more than a week!
