I thought having these components would provide adequate cooling, seeing others with similar specs maintaining temps in the high 30s to low 40s during gaming, around mid to high 60s and low 70s when idle, with some running at lower voltages. I’m aware these temperatures are expected to be higher by design, but why do some users achieve much cooler runs? I’ve lowered the voltage and still see idle temps in the mid 50s to low 60s, and under load at 85°C. Someone suggested Armoury Crate might affect performance, but I removed that software months ago. I adjusted the fan curve in NZXT Cam to performance mode, but it didn’t help much. I’m hoping to lower my temps further or rule out malware causing the overheating. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks ahead!
Yeah, remove the NZXT cam. Otherwise your cooler should still work at full capacity. If that doesn’t fix it, the issue might be with the mount—pressure levels are off. I’d suggest switching to a better air cooler like Noctua or Thermal Right. My u12s usually run around 36°C even at idle, so a better solution would help.
I tried the Coolermaster, but it made a really loud ticking sound from the pump. I returned it and got a new one, which was even noisier. I bought the NZXT model for a bit more money—it was much quieter, even when running at full performance. The cooling performance stayed similar, but it’s probably time to upgrade eventually.
