Hey there, your roommate's desktop seems to have occasional connectivity hiccups. It usually happens when he starts up and the load times become really slow, especially in games. I tested his ping and it’s not always stable—sometimes it drops and climbs up to 800. He thought a router reset would help, but since we share the same router, I suggested he check my PC first. His setup is nearer the router, which should give him a better connection, but my tests show his ping is normal around 2ms. It looks like there might be a problem on his end that’s hard to spot. Task manager didn’t show any unusual usage either. Any tips or steps you could try?
Checking for onboard WiFi presence. If available, identifying the motherboard model and driver status. If not present, verifying if drivers were installed for the WiFi card or updating Ethernet-related drivers on the motherboard.
It comes with a ready-made HP Omen and built-in WiFi, powered by an HP motherboard. I haven’t installed any specific drivers yet. I’ll update it soon.
It seems the answer addressed the issue. I’m glad the straightforward solution worked for you. Thanks a lot!
It works best with straightforward ideas. Just keep in mind K.I.S.S. I need to repeat that often. Spoiler: Keep it simple, stupid.
