Hi, I own a year and a half Zotac RTX 4070 Trinity that I purchased in the UAE last year. Until recently, everything worked perfectly back home. I rebuilt my PC as usual here, but the GPU still doesn’t display anything on PCIe 4.0 or the main slot. After checking everything, reseating the connections and having a technician inspect it, I still don’t understand what’s wrong. The tech explained that another model with a B450 Aorus Elite uses PCIe 3.0 and works fine there. He suggested getting a new motherboard, which I bought an MSI B550m Pro Wi-Fi. After installing it, the issue appeared after about five months. I’ve been watching YouTube videos about it, but whenever I turn it off, the VGA light stays on. I tried reseating and resetting the motherboard, but nothing changed—it just shows the VGA light while the GPU fans spin. I removed my old board and rebuilt everything again, but it still boots normally and functions as expected.
It might have been better to adjust the PCIe slot from 4.0 to 3.0 in the BIOS instead of swapping the slot itself. Are you current with your BIOS? Your GPU could still work at 3.0, so run a benchmark such as 3DMark to verify performance. Edited November 3, 2024 by leclod
