The Z790 Aorus Elite AX 1.1 DDR5 model doesn't support installing two RAM sticks together.
Completed a fresh installation from the ground up, but it’s resisting. The board will show each RAM stick separately if they’re in the A2 position, confirming both are functional. If placed correctly in A2/B2 slots, the board will illuminate but won’t display or access BIOS settings. I’ve let it run for more than 30 minutes just to be safe, as “training” DDR5 RAM seems necessary. The board will update to BIOS and flag incorrect slot placements, yet still show a display output. Is there a specific BIOS adjustment required or another step I should take? Updated the BIOS via the Gigabyte website and installed all recommended updates from the gigabyte control center. Thanks if you can assist.
The board seems to dislike this RAM setup in dual-channel mode. Have you considered using A1 and B1 instead?
You just arrived home and started using A1/B1, but the display isn’t showing anything. It restarted once after you tried to access or train RAM, yet it’s been running for nearly 20 minutes without any change. The board is showing both sticks in A1/A2 and B1/B2 as single channels. There’s a warning in the BIOS saying it should be using dual channels in A2/B2. Are there any special BIOS settings to enable dual channel?
I've checked every possible placement for the RAM slots. It will only be posted if one stick goes into the A2 slot or both are running single channel in A1/A2 or B1/B2. It won't appear in A1/B1 or A2/B2 setups. I'm confident both sticks are still functional and all DIM slots are operational. Since they run together (except in dual channel), compatibility seems likely.
the motherboard is designed to support any physically compatible ram, but the QVL (qualified vendor list) contains only those memory models confirmed to function correctly with that specific board. it isn't an exact or perfect list; sometimes it includes kits that aren't stable on your system, and most manufacturers can't test every available option. therefore, there are often many memory products outside the QVL that still work well. i recommend returning your kit or trying a different one, or borrowing from a friend and using another product to confirm compatibility.
Ordered same-day shipping from Amazon and received the CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 5600MHz CL40 Intel XMP iCUE compatible computer memory in black. It’s listed as a supported model but runs at 400Mhz slower than the previous Team Group I version. I installed it and it started up immediately without any issues. I turned on XMP1 in the BIOS and it reached the advertised speed right away. That’s what happens when you try to save time.
