Hi everyone. I’m here with a significant issue regarding my new system. I’ve been using the same old machine for about ten years, and since I’m not feeling my best lately, I decided to give it a refresh. My setup includes an Intel i7 12700k, Gigabyte z690 gaming motherboard, DDR4 memory from G.Skill TridentZ Neo, and a Corsair RM850x 80 gold. The BIOS is set to 2133MHz, XMP enabled, with the RAM at 3600MHz—perfect timing—but my computer keeps crashing when I try to boot or run tasks like extracting files. Even when I adjust frequencies, timing, and voltage manually, it doesn’t start properly and shows error messages in the BIOS. It’s frustrating because I really wanted a new machine, but now I’ve made a mistake with the components. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Are you asking about 2 sticks of 16GB each or 4 sticks of 8GB? You might want to adjust the settings manually. The cables could require a bit more power to hit 3600MHz in your configuration.

In short, I own two sets of 2x16 cables labeled F4-3600C16D-32GTZN. I attempted manual setup earlier, but the BIOS reported an error and refused to boot.

The system displays an error message indicating a bios issue whenever you try to apply custom settings.

No, I don't have a BIOS to check.

I thought adjusting the voltage resolved the problem, but it didn’t. The specs match the original model, so maybe changing the motherboard would help. MSI and ASUS seem more reliable than Gigabyte.
