The Xfinity app fails to list devices linked via Ethernet.
I've already tried many solutions and feel really stuck. Xfinity's Xfi app isn't showing Ethernet-connected devices, only WiFi ones. I've changed IP addresses and disabled IPv6, but nothing works. The devices appear in the offline list but disappear quickly after being connected via Ethernet. Do you know what might be causing this issue? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated.
Contact Xfinity and request immediate repairs. They are the sole authority for resolving this issue.
Want to hear something super absurd? We tried calling six times, scheduled six meetings, but they kept dropping through—then sent us a faulty XFINITY Flex instead. Now we’re locked out, can’t even get our home server online. Xfinity, that’s enough.
I use Xfinity but don’t rely on their modem. There are no problems with port forwarding for servers, which is the main reason you’d need it. Buying your own modem would cost $30 a month for unlimited instead of the $25 that includes their service limitations. Another choice is to switch providers. In my area, T Mobile and Charter are being considered. T Mobile doesn’t provide a public IPv4 address, while Charter’s customer support isn’t much better than Comcast’s.
They don’t have the choice but to bring in a technician with a fresh router. You can’t just unplug and fix it yourself. They’ll need you to confirm the connection is working and restart the device. If you followed their instructions, they should be able to handle it themselves.
I reached out to them, but they provided a router designed for speeds above 800mbps—it was white. They suggested switching to a black model (just keeping the color in mind). It seems the router meant for higher speeds wouldn’t function with a connection over 400+mbps. This partially solved half my issues; the new one only recognizes half of the devices the old one handled, which is still okay since most needed devices are present. If you assign a static IP on any Xfinity router right now, it will lock the device and require a factory reset. SOULOTION decided to downgrade my Xfinity router because the one I had wouldn’t work with my 400mbps setup. I’m not sure what I’m dealing with anymore.
