I've noticed those e5-2670 builds on YouTube, but the boards are quite expensive. I was considering a setup with an x5650 six-core and an X58 board. It should fit my budget or just be over if I can find a good deal. What do you think about that combination?

the x58 offers a great price but isn't ideal. I require at least three pcie slots. These aren't inexpensive when you're planning to install multiple graphics cards. I found an xeon on ebay at a lower cost... it seems I'll need to continue searching.
