Hello everyone,
I've been dealing with quite a few challenges setting up my PC and TV setup. Everything went smoothly when connecting the cables, but I'm facing a significant controller problem that hasn't been resolved.

Details:
I use an Xbox Series X controller that came with the console, and I recently bought a Bluetooth adapter for my PC. The adapter works perfectly and recognizes the controller without any issues. However, when using Steam, specifically in Big Picture mode, the controller doesn't function properly. This is the main concern. When playing games like Resident Evil 2, the controller works fine through Bluetooth inside the game.

What I've tried:
I've done extensive research on this problem. A fix suggested disconnecting the controller from Bluetooth, using the "Xbox Accessories" app on Windows to update the firmware, and then reconnecting. I followed those steps (and there was a firmware update), but the issue persisted.

I also checked a thread recommending a Windows update and enabling Steam Beta participation, then adjusting the Steam Controller settings for Xbox Extended Feature Support. Both attempts didn't help.

The controller works perfectly when connected via cable. But since I bought it for wireless use, I'm stuck.

If anyone has any ideas or solutions, please share them!

I have personal concerns about Steam and an Xbox controller. Try setting it to "generic" instead of using its name type and check if that resolves the issues. I own one of the newer models, but it doesn't function properly unless I connect it as a generic and use a physical cable. In Windows it displays correctly and operates all button assignments, launching Steam or Ubisoft Connect without problems—except when using a USB C cable. The older controllers work well on all my PCs.

Have you purchased the genuine Microsoft wireless adapter?
