The Xbox boss is requesting compatibility of Xbox 360 titles for PC platforms.
Recently, Microsoft announced they’re adding support for Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. Interestingly, the company is planning further expansions. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, shared in a Gizmodo Brazil interview: “I’m interested in having Xbox 360 games on PC too, but it comes with priorities. We need to consider what we’re building next. Still, original Xbox titles would be a nice addition. Yes, there’s progress underway, but I think Microsoft will deliver a more polished version for Xbox One first—especially since the Xbox One runs x86 architecture, which should make transferring easier.” He also joked about the potential for future updates. Well, if they're getting them onto the Xbone, it shouldn't be too tough to move the emulator to a PC.
I hope their description of Xbox 360 on PC doesn't send it streaming to your machine as before...
We don't understand their approach. Is the 360 hardware copied into the One? Could it be an emulator? Are they just using a game disc to show ownership and then streaming from a service that mimics NVIDIA's setup? Might they actually recompile all the 360 titles for the One? I wonder since I expect the PC method to be similar or even identical.
