I have an Xbox One controller attached to my Windows 11 computer through a special type of wire called USBIP* and it shows up in Device Manager and Control Panel, looking connected just like any other normal device. There are no errors shown in the event log or file history. In Device Manager, the drivers for this controller look current and show it as an "Xbox One Controller" with driver version 10.0.22000.1. When I try to update the driver, it says that the best driver is already installed. However, when I press buttons on the controller, my PC does not see any input from it, and neither does the Xbox Accessories app, which usually lists all connected XB1 controllers. Could anyone give me some troubleshooting tips? *For people who don't know what this means, USBIP is a way of sending signals through a network so one computer can talk to another using a USB port. I am using a specific version called USBIP-Win that works on Windows. On the part where the cable connects physically, everything seems okay; my server PC was able to bind the controller correctly, and my client PC also managed to attach it successfully. **On the hardware side of things, this XB1 controller usually works perfectly when plugged directly into the PC without using USBIP. The microUSB cable and physical USB port on the server PC also work fine. So I don't think there is a problem with the actual hardware.

Could be a silly answer, but in Device Manager, does it show up as a controller? Have you tried running the calibration there?

A long time ago, my Xbox controller was broken. I took out the driver from Device Manager, turned off the computer, let Windows fix it again by itself. It worked and the trouble has never happened since.

That's not a stupid question at all. Dev Mgmt listed it as "Xbox One Controller" and I didn't see an option to calibrate, but I might have missed it. I'll try that too, along with uninstalling the driver and rebooting, once I get access to that computer next week.

There is no way to fix this by adjusting settings or removing the software and restarting again. I'm really sorry you had to try that, but thank you so much for letting me know and for any other tips you can share!

I've got a similar issue with an arcade stick that uses a Brook Universal PCB and is set up for Xbox One mode. This problem happens every time I turn on my PC. If I disconnect and reconnect the USB-B cable, it shows up in the Game Controllers section correctly after booting. But if I switch the controller to Xbox360 or PS4 mode, everything works right away once I restart, so no need to unplug. It would be great not having to keep unplugging that cable every time I turn my computer on.

I had the same problem, but it went away once I manually put in a fresh Xbox one driver. Here is the link I used: https://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/...ion/17648/
