It’s unlikely anyone will sift through each model and compile a full list for you. Focus on the board you’re interested in—check if it has three full-size slots and verify it can use all three simultaneously. Most product details mention the PCIe modes it supports. However, running SLI or Crossfire with three cards isn’t currently supported by manufacturers.

I've been away from the PCS for a while... not sure what AFAIK is. I mostly read articles and haven’t kept up except about those 5700 or 2080 TI cards. My goal is to use Unraid with an AMD 3900X that has three VMS, each with four cores. I’m planning three gaming PCs and trying to figure out what specs I need. But I’m not completely sure yet since I haven’t played much lately. I don’t want to spend too much money right now. Also, I won’t upgrade for at least five or seven years unless the board or CPU fails.

I'm having trouble getting PCS out of a 3900x setup, maybe two gaming configurations or a 3800x, but I keep looking and nobody seems to be doing it right now. Just an old Linux user from a few years back doesn't really help with today's hardware, does it?

The Ryzen CPUs designed for x570 boards offer only 20+4 PCIe lanes. On compatible boards with three full-length PCIe slots, just the first two are directly linked to the CPU, while the third slot supports only x4 connections to the chipset. The bottom slot can handle x8 connections, and the second slot can support x8 as well. If you intend to run three graphics cards, consider HEDT platforms such as Threadripper—they provide more PCIe lanes. It would be simpler and more cost-effective to assemble three separate gaming PCs.

oh ic.. and I had read that the thread ripper is not a very good cpu compared the the Ryzen 3900x the 2920 I think was 12cores was not as good at 3900x well ok would 2 PCS be good.. since I like Asus and they Canadian repair shop only couple hours away.. and they don't make excuses to blame you for hardware failure like Gigabyte... and I don't know enough about asrock or msi and I deal with Canada computers... so I could handle 2 PCS out of 1 if that's more realistic https://www.canadacomputers.com/search/r...=asus+x570 and how many cores is enough for Gaming.. like I don't do video editing.. and currently don't play hard core games.. just Counter Strike Source,odd time GTA , World of Warcraft, fornite… and currently using a HD 7700 video card or just HDMI buit on port.. so I never know how many cores is also goo for video game if the x3800, 3700x be good enough 4 cores each.. as I watch linus videso and core count doesn't matter but highter clock speed does.. but how many cores do games require.. just 1? 2 3 and I appreciate your input so far.. thank you

I can cut costs by buying components separately. First, it’s better to have one setup instead of three in the same room. Second, the 3900x model has 12 cores, but past core counts don’t really matter. The key is that the first core speed matters most. Third, I won’t need a $650 CPU and three $500 motherboards. I’ll skip the video cards and regular TVs as monitors. Fourth, since I don’t play games often, just have my everyday PC. My old ASUS Hero 3 with an I7 6700 blew up, but I thought using a new CPU board would let me run VMs and have at least two computers sharing one CPU. That way, the CPU gets used without being wasted. I only need more cores for video rendering, not gaming. And my kids and I could share each other’s devices. I figured I could build one box with 2 or 3 monitors next to each other, using the CPU fully. It’s like having a car that can go up to 300 km/h, but in reality it only reaches about 100 km/h—wasting the rest. The extra 200 km/h is just idle time. I’m trying to squeeze the most performance out of the CPU, sorry for not keeping up with all the latest tech.

I also noticed inconsistent information about performance with 4 or 6 cores, and it seems potentially better for gaming than expected—still not fully confident.
