This seems unusual, isn't it? You searched for restoring the main BIOS, tried a couple of methods, then checked the System Information and saw the BIOS version as F31. It's puzzling how the version changed after your attempts.

I put in @Bios but can't change both the first and second bios. It displays F31 as the active version.

During the initial setup, the choice appeared as a toggle switch once the update procedure began in the application.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to use the checkbox after picking the bios file. The backup bios are there for your protection. Updating bios via this tool on the desktop is safe and convenient compared to changing them directly in BIOS settings.

If your backup BIOS version differs, you could face problems because the selection happens automatically—not manually. You won’t control switching to the backup BIOS yourself, and issues may arise such as failure to boot due to the board choosing an outdated chip that doesn’t support the new processor.

I completed the update and obtained BIOS version F62 for the 5700X. I installed F40 via the "@BIOS" tool with backup options enabled. For F41, F50, and F62 I used Q-Flash through the BIOS settings due to concerns about updating in Windows causing problems. After installing F41, I ran the EC FW tool; it booted and displayed F40 again, indicating the secondary BIOS. I re-flashed F41, then F50 and F62. It seems the dual-bios update wasn't mentioned on the support page or in the manual. When I flashed F50, a checkbox for updating backup BIOS appeared—enabling it updated the backup version as well. I’m unsure how to verify both updates were applied correctly.

Everything is functioning properly now. The secondary BIOS remained on F41; I changed it by turning off the PSU via the back panel button, holding power and reset buttons for ten seconds, then restarting it. After that, I successfully flashed F50 and F62. It seems the "EC FW" tool automatically switches the BIOS—maybe that’s the intended behavior? They should have clearer instructions on flashing both BIOS versions.

I no longer use Gigabyte because of reliability issues. I had a board with their nForce 2 chipset during the Athlon XP Barton time, but it failed. After that, I stayed away from them until the X470 UG, which also stopped working on me—my 5700XT was affected too.

Absolutely, I'll steer clear of those Gigabyte models in the future.
