You've been using this paste for quite some time—thermal paste usually loses effectiveness after a few years of storage or if it begins to break down into separate parts.

I placed the order on Amazon and verified the manufacturing date—it shows 2020. Is that considered too recent?

Sure, that’s a solid approach. Just make sure it doesn’t get too hard or overly wet, and it should dry smoothly without leaving an oily residue. You’re definitely covering the right amount—just a pea-sized dot in the CPU center should work well for a Ryzen chip.

This might be a bit out of left field, but are you using the same program to check the CPU temp? or maybe the same software but a different version? It could be possible that two different software suites are reading different temp sensors and/or a bug in the new or older version of the software allowing for an incorrect temp to be displayed. If you enter the UEFI it should show your temp there. Has that value changed from before?

Same software was used: HWmonitor. Temperatures matched in BIOS. I applied the small line technique.

Hello, I own a Ryzen 3 3200G and a Deepcool AK400. I assembled another build with a Ryzen 5 5600G and the stock cooler that came with it. At idle, the temperatures hover around 48°C, gradually increasing to about 53°C. When I first set up the 3200G, the stock cooler kept it stable at around 36-38°C during idle, but at half load it reached 58°C and at full load it hit 66-68°C using the thermal paste I applied. I used the Deepcool Z5 initially, but the temps stayed high. Eventually, I switched to the ARCTIC MX-4 cooler. It only lowered the temperatures by about 1°C. I also tried reinstalling the cooler, but it didn’t help much. While playing COD WARZONE and PUBG, the game ran smoothly under 50 FPS. When I opened the case, the heatsink felt warm—around 69-72°C—but it wasn’t overly hot. Sorry for any confusion with my English; I hope this helps!
