It's among the top DLCs I've seen. Hearts of Stone stands out as one of the most engaging stories in gaming. Blood & Wine expands the world with a new city and a substantial amount of content—around 50 hours if you complete it. Given the value, it's hard to beat for fans of TW3.

Yes, the Witcher 3 DLCs stand out compared to many 2016 titles.

A few players enjoy seeing Ciri and Yen return in the expansion. It's disappointing when the narrative feels complete, but fans still find value in these appearances.

Many figures from the original game appear in Blood & Wine, though they play minor roles depending on your choices. Ciri’s and Yennefer’s arcs are largely concluded in the base story. New characters emerge in both games, and the structure of the expansions explains why key figures aren’t central. Hearts of Stone resembles a complex side quest for Geralt—it’s simply how he encounters things. The start of Blood & Wine involves accepting another monster contract in a distant land.

There are fresh monsters, a vibrant world, great gear, powerful abilities, intense boss battles, engaging stories, and an incredible soundtrack. I’d say yes. I’ve spent around 150 hours on PS4 just with the main game plus Hearts of Stone, and over 250 hours on PC with both expansions. Just remember not to rush it—I really miss seeing more Witcher content, especially not for another ten years.

In reality, having reviewed the books really added to the joy of meeting Regis, making it even more special to see Yennefer.

Hearts of Stone offers a concise experience yet delivers an engaging narrative. Blood and Wine is a fresh title with a developing plot, missions, and overall quality that stands out. While the story in Blood and Wine might not be flawless, the new content and areas are impressive. If you must decide, pick Blood and Wine. Still, playing both would be ideal.

They're both a good value for the cost, especially since Blood and Wine runs longer than many expensive AAA games.

The DLC would make sense if it were priced around $60 instead of the $30 it’s being offered for. Both expansions are essential for fans of TWC3. Such a high-quality DLC is uncommon.
