I purchased an ASUS-USB 56AX and have an ASUS RT-AX58U. My old adapter is a Netgear A7000 AC, which functions fine on my laptop. It works perfectly without issues. My laptop runs Windows 10, the newest version. The USB AX doesn’t connect on my desktop PC. The Netgear adapter is fully operational. After a complete Windows 10 clean install, the problem persists. Only the 'unable to connect to this network' message appears for any network. I’ve downloaded the drivers from the ASUS website. Assistance is needed urgently. This is really frustrating.

Confirming your connection method: are you connecting it straight to the motherboard's USB ports or via the headers in your PC case?

I've checked the front ports and the USB 3.2 hub. The front port is also 3.2. I haven't tested the rear ports since their performance would be poor, but I'll try them now to help troubleshoot.

I understand the issue. It functions in the rear ports, but the included cradle has a very short cable. I need to find a way to extend it so it reaches my desk for better use. Thanks!

Certainly! You don't need to use a PCIe card. It would perform better, especially with the antenna on the cable for optimal reception. USB adapters should only be considered as a backup option.

Great! Yes, sometimes the front panel connection isn't ideal for other devices except USB sticks, hehe.

I've seen inconsistent performance. The M2 port fits my 3080 and the PCI-E slot would work fine, but it seems to struggle with hot air environments. I usually get reliable results with decent USB adapters. What's odd is this device only supports USB 1.0 slots, not the newer 3.2 Gen 2 ones.
