The wire sheathing pulls back when heated.
I purchased several moles 4 pin power connectors for my PC water cooling setup. Some were used directly, others served as extension wires. When I heated the cut wires, the sheathing retracted like heat shrink. Is this typical behavior, or is the wire quality poor?
The picture suggests two heatshrinks with an inner adhesive layer. If they aren't heatshrink, it likely means either excessive heat is being used or the wires are of poor quality. For clarity, consider sharing a link to where you bought the wires/adapter/harnesses and include photos of your tools for this custom cable project. I personally make my own cables and use MDPC-X equipment.
Yes, the other two are heatshrink with glue inside. I was working on applying heatshrink to the wires. I'm using this Molex connector as a terminator for one end of a Molex "T" that I won't be using. Because it will be placed on a wood board outside any enclosure, I don't want live power connectors left unattended. I pressed the ends together to seal them. That's why you notice the glue protruding.
