I participate in a game named World of Warships. After increasing my monitor speed to 70hz and using a 1080ti, I often see 69/70hz during gameplay with my 2k BenQ screen. Then a recent Windows 10 update occurred about two days ago. When I restart the game, it stutters, showing frames in the 40s or less. It’s now unplayable for me. No other adjustments seem possible. Also observe: the start menu returned to its default setup with unnecessary apps. Any suggestions?

Larger Windows updates often cause issues with GPU tasks, especially for NVIDIA graphics cards. Typically, reinstalling the driver resolves the problem.

Active Time Range, Configure Active Time Window
Begin > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Modify active time window.
Specify a period you wish Windows avoids updating during, resetting after reboots, or handling issues.
