Hi everyone, I just started using my Windows 10 computer a few days ago. It won’t start up at all. After some troubleshooting, I found the issue was a corrupt Windows update from July 10th, 2018. I tried going into safe mode and removing it through the programs menu, but it didn’t work. The update isn’t uninstallable with the available options. I know how to remove other updates, so I’m hoping someone can assist me. I’ve been working on fixing this for a while now and it’s really frustrating.

It appears on the boot logo during an infinite loop, not on the login screen or elsewhere.

The display won't proceed beyond the boot logo. I see horizontal colored lines followed by a black screen.

I ask about the duration, specifically whether a ten-minute pause is part of the process.

Thank you for your message. You're experiencing issues with vertical colored lines during loading, followed by the monitor turning off and displaying a black screen that persists until you restart the computer. This has been ongoing for several days. You've tried reinstalling Windows updates and are now attempting to download a standalone update via Safe Mode, but it's not working. Could you clarify if you're seeing any error messages or specific steps when trying to access the update?

The optimal method is to save it on a different machine. You might even connect your hard drive temporarily.
