I prepared a Windows update and tried to install it. Once logged in, I encountered a completely black screen except for my mouse, which didn’t respond to right-click. The only options were opening Task Manager and using ctrl+alt+delte, but that was about it. When I booted into safe mode, I could regain access to Windows, though some features remained broken. For instance, the search bar and start menu weren’t working, and the settings menu would crash if I selected devices or update & security. It seems unlikely I’ll be able to revert to the previous version. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Consider purchasing an inexpensive USB adapter to test its functionality.

The issue isn't with the USB ports—they function properly. I can move my mouse and interact with the task manager without problems. The real problem is that it doesn’t appear to have a way to revert to the earlier update, even when using safe mode.

I solved it, so if you come across this, I applied that workaround from kapilarya.com.
