When you inserted your USB stick into the motherboard and booted from it, it displayed the PIC screen. You attempted to install Windows on the drive on another machine, which briefly showed the Windows logo before restarting. Now you're unsure what to do next.

Check if the motherboard supports UEFI and whether secure boot is enabled in the BIOS settings. Let me know your configuration so I can assist further.

The system runs a Gigabyte P35 DS3 board, but no secure boot feature was detected. I’m using Windows 10 with an 8GB USB 2.0 device, and I’m confused about sysprep. Did I make a mistake?

Try using a Linux distribution on the USB stick. Tools like Unetbootin can erase the drive and let you install Linux without a proper secure boot setup. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need a physical DVD drive for the PC. Alternatively, download a Windows 7 installation and load it onto the USB, then attempt to run it on the machine. Note that Windows 7 can usually upgrade to Windows 10 even if it’s running UEFI or not.

Does it enable UEFI settings? I’m unsure if Windows 10 works with non-UEFI boards, but if it does, you’ll need to set up the installation USB in MBR mode (Rufus offers this as an option).

I attempted to install Windows 7 using the DVD, but it didn’t work. I’m probably having to use the USB drive instead, though the setup guide doesn’t mention that. It’s frustrating.

Board from 2006 with restrictions on capabilities. Many future Windows features weren't available then. You may find success with XP or Vista. Try installing Vista first; if that works, attempt upgrading to Windows 7—success there might lead to a 10 upgrade.

Yes, burning a DVD with a disc drive works if you have the correct disc and software.

Likely not, right? The Win 10 setup requires that advanced Boot environment. Perhaps Win 7 could be sufficient.
