The Windows installer fails to generate the boot partition.
I've used a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard for around ten months, purchased it second-hand on eBay. Today I changed the SSD because I didn't want to delete certain data, but at the same time needed to reinstall Windows due to driver issues. I prepared the Windows 10 Installer USB and during installation, I noticed there were no other partitions except the Windows one. I tried switching the SSD and USB, but nothing worked. Now it doesn't even boot from bootable USBs anymore—it can only enter the BIOS and boot menu. Anyone have any advice?
full system specifications? what are the new and old SSDs? does the boot menu display the bootable USB? does the BIOS recognize the SSD?
I'll begin by mentioning that the system began experiencing RAM issues and a front USB port on the case a few weeks ago. Here are the specifications: CPU is AMD FX8320E, RAM is 10GB DDR3 at 1333Mhz, GPU is GTX 1060 ROG STRIX 6G, power supply is a Silverstone 400w unit, the old SSD is a Kingston A400 480GB, and the new SSDs I've used are SUV400S37. Yes, I can begin booting from the USB, but after the Windows logo fails to load and a purple screen appears, the installation halts. I can still move the mouse, though the PC stops further Windows setup. Both BIOS and the boot menu display every bootable device.
No, I was trying to install windows 10, but it won't event finish of booting the USB. it stops at the purple screen, no "setup is starting" appears. I even tried 6 different memory sticks, every one by itself, on every single memory slot ( it took me about an hour ). But that's not only for win 10, it is for every OS, or bootable drive, I can't install anything. I have to install the os on another PC and then transfer the SSD. But I don't consider this as an option
