Good evening and spooky season friends
I was opening CS2 cases on my little HP omen 15 laptop when the machine stopped working. After turning it back on, I’m seeing constant flickering with no working startup or Windows key—just nothing.
A system restore from last week helped everything function normally, but another restart later brought the flickering back. I spent five hours trying fixes until the restore point vanished.
The only solution so far is using Task Manager to restart, though even that fails if I keep it running too long. Typing anything now takes about five minutes.

I’m not sure if the computer is completely broken or just stuck in some weird explorer loop. I’ve tried closing Explorer and disabling the Windows error service, but nothing worked.
Anyone have any advice? Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If you can restart the laptop via the OS, press shift and select Reboot from the start menu. After completion, a blue screen will appear, allowing you to choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair or System restore.

Hello, thank you!
I attempted system restore, which would restart to an older restore point and resolved the problem, but when I shut it down again, the same issue occurs. Startup repair also didn’t fix it.

Does it function whether powered by battery or mains electricity? Does it operate without the battery while using only mains power? Does it work when connected to an external monitor? If there are any dumps in the subfolders under C:\Windows\LiveKernelEvents, please upload them to the cloud with a link (make sure they are public).
