It's a solid plan, installing Windows beforehand and letting users enable it themselves. You won't have to enter the reg key during setup—just press skip. Even if they try to crack it on eBay, you can still locate it elsewhere.
I usually pay five dollars and employ my label maker to produce the keycode... I then affix it to the back of the laptop or within the case, wherever convenient... if the customer isn’t concerned, there’s no additional cost.
