The Wi-Fi network name shifts without any input from you?
I possess two routers – a newer Mercusys MR30D acting as the primary gateway and an older TP-Link model functioning as an access point. Both offer 5GHz Wi-Fi; the TP-Link network is named "TP-Link_AN8BDI" while the Mercusys uses "Mercusys." The issue lies in the SSID on the Mercusys network shifting to "TP-Link_" and behaving oddly. The new network name isn’t recognized, and neither password works. I’ve configured them on separate channels (TP-Link 40 and Mercusys 36). Living in a rural area means minimal interference, and I’ve disabled mesh functionality. What might be causing this behavior? Additionally, when accessing the admin panel on the Mercusys, it still displays "Mercusys" as the network name. The only solution appears to be resetting both routers, which will temporarily retain the SSID before reverting to the TP-Link identifier. My Mercusys admin password is secure and not "admin" (just a joke 😉). EDIT: I’m prepared to return the Mercusys unit for repair if needed, but I’m hesitant to do so unless it’s a configuration error.
