your tv is located far from the modem, on the first floor while the modem is on the second. after installing a tplink extender, speed remains low—around 5-6mbps compared to the modem’s 25-30mbps. the extender is in the middle of the first floor, which affects signal quality. you mentioned issues with 4k streaming; it seems the extender isn’t delivering optimal performance. for devices needing near-modem speeds, look for extenders rated for 90%+ of the modem’s capability. increasing your internet speed to 50mbps won’t necessarily boost tv speed, as distance still limits performance regardless of modem power.

To make the extender useful, it must be placed within a strong signal area of your modem. This ensures a reliable WiFi connection. Range extenders also reduce bandwidth by half because of their design.
