The Wi-Fi adapter malfunctions during gaming sessions.
What wifi-adapter, what pc. The more you share the better your help will be. Else the recommendation would be; "use another USB port".
I’d try an alternative USB port first as my initial approach. Over the years I’ve collected many USB devices, even though most should work backward, I often need to change a port on older wireless modules for a mouse or lose my travel USB drive in the wrong slot—only functioning on A instead of B, etc.
Check if the adapter is connected to the motherboard, identify the specific model, confirm where you downloaded the drivers, and verify if other parts of the motherboard have been updated.
There may be several reasons for this. Weak signal strength is possible. If connected, what does your laptop display about the connection? How close are you to the router? Are you in another room? Does the problem continue even if you're sitting at a table with the laptop and the Wi-Fi source in the same area? Is it only when playing games or does it occur while browsing the internet? From my side, it's difficult to pinpoint whether the issue lies with the laptop, the router, or just a poor connection. My final question is where exactly is the router located—inside a cabinet or positioned in a way that allows the antennas to function properly? Modern routers are strong, but placement affects performance.
the router location is chosen for ease in our space and positioned near the living room. the signal quality varies—sometimes it's only a slight drop or it reaches full strength—but it never drops completely. when I begin the game and use in-game credits, internet access, or the Wi-Fi button, everything disappears. currently, the solution that seems to help is playing idle tasks before starting any games, which prevents the immediate loss of Wi-Fi connection.
It almost sounds like a form of filter to prevent gambling as you mention a spefic item as gambling but might have just been a bug in the game. As you seem to have solved the issue that sgood. Anyways there are forums and it seems that many people around the world have had issues with th gambling in GTA and here is a quick snip from one forum post at the Rockstar forums It's because countries law... Poland, Luxemburg, Belgium have blockade... So I don't know what to do , I'm pretty sure that USA is allowed to play in casino xD Guys , I've been thinking about using a USA VPN for example, will I get banned? Do you know sth about it? But casinos are legalized in Portugal. And this is just a game, it has nothing to do with laws, just age (+18).
I experienced the same situation too. It involved needing to reinstall Windows (despite having a full backup) because of the USB Wi-Fi adapter problem. The adapter sometimes appears when I enable Wi-Fi, but it’s not visible in settings. I’m planning to transfer all default files to Microsoft by reviewing logs and moving them to my reset installation. I think this might be a more frequent issue.
It appears to be a frequent issue with specific Wi-Fi gadgets. My USB link often functions well for short periods but disappears entirely after a reboot.
