Additionally, here’s what ‘TheWorse’ intends to accomplish with his modification:
- A fully functional, stable default render configuration with adjusted settings for accessibility
- Fixes for stuttering, including adjustments to lod and shadow map sizes
- Complete headlight shadow effects that work properly (though still limited by Ubisoft’s 2013 optimization)
- Customizable headlight volumes and various control options
- Support for E3 Bloom and additional presets
- Possibly edited particle settings and Lua shader configurations
- Lighting tweaks such as DoF adjustments, reflection intensity, and HBAO+ changes
- Enhanced street lighting with higher density for civilian areas
- Color grading improvements and DigitalTrips integration
- Street spotlight modifications
- Light volume updates (possibly pending purchase of the game)
It seems people are improving the visuals, making them more appealing. Hope Ubisoft could have handled this better than the modders!
HELL YES!!! GIVE ME THE MODS!!! I got this game the day it came out, already completed it once and half way through a second time, I love this game (takes a little getting used to in the beginning) It is currently one of my favorite games. (Command and Conquer is currently my favorite)
Regarding the unpleasant pop-in seen in TotalBiscuit's video, it appears to be a technical glitch or audio issue that wasn't resolved.
Now that you mentioned it... that's really funny. I'm planning to try this mod soon. Even though I already run WD at maximum settings and it works without any lag now that I updated both my CPU and GPU, it still made a big impact. The jump from 3.4 to 4.5 GHz was noticeable. That's why I enjoy PC gaming—if developers can't improve the games, modders can step in.
I'll attempt it upon my return. It seems quite impressive. The Lucky PC boasts an excellent modding scene!
