I made the upgrade and now my key appears to be changed. The control panel shows I’ve fully activated Windows 10 Pro, but I’m not sure if that’s correct.
Automatically apply your existing login and activation details for a clean Windows 10 installation. Include the required key.
Clean installation isn't feasible because the Windows 10 key is already linked to your device via your Microsoft account. Activation is only available through the free Windows Update service, not a full clean install. I confirmed this directly with Microsoft. You need to upgrade from Windows 8.1 first.
Sorry for the delayed response, but I just started my Win10 RTM VM and it functions properly. It outputs the same Microsoft keys we received.
Remarkable yet keeping your secret hidden from the world is wise.
